As a company, we reach out to participate in as many local non-profit, charity and fundraising events as feasibly possible while maintaining loyalty to our brand in an effort to give back to our community. We happily partner with non-profit community organizations that support the following:

  1. Education in and promoting Sustainability and protecting our natural environment.
  2. Supporting our Nations’ Veterans, Police, and Fire Fighters.
  3. Supporting research for Cancer, Alzheimer’s and AIDS.
  4. Supporting shelters that house and feed the homeless (both two legged and four).
  5. Promoting Craft Beer Culture.

A portion of the proceeds from the sale of our “Revolutionary Series” beers is donated to local non-profits related to each beer’s namesake. For example, our “First Responder” Helles Lager proceeds split evenly between the Sacramento Firefighters Burns Institute and the Bruce Verhoeven Foundation, which supports the families of Police Officers who have fallen in the line of duty.

Additionally, every September 11th, all Military Personnel, Police Officers, Firefighters and EMTs will be treated to $0.50 beers (the least amount we can legally charge).

To further our connection to the Sacramento Arts community, there is also a space within our tasting room where we feature a different showing from a local artist every month, joining the monthly “Second Saturday” Midtown Gallery Tour, further connecting us to the community and helping bring fresh faces to our debuted local art, as well as our brewery.

As an example of how we exemplify our commitment to the Craft Brewing Community, we annually hold the “Sactown Open” Homebrewers Competition at our brewery, a BJCP Sanctioned event where every local homebrewer club will be invited to come brew a beer on the premises of our brewery.

Once finished and submitted, these beers will be judged by a panel of Sactown Union Management, BJCP Certified Judges and local homebrewing dignitaries. The winning brewers will then get to come brew their beer on our system to be entered in the Annual Great American Beer Festival Pro-Am Competition. This is one of many traditions we have to hold tight to our homebrewing roots (as every major brewer once began as a homebrewer).
